My Afterthoughts
Gratitude is the first word that comes to mind. Gratitude for the trust that was
shown to me and gratitude that I know what to do as a therapist, because time
and again in my narrative practice I have found that the ideas do not fail. I mean
the ideas that all people are competent—and that we should shed light on their
intentions and values.
I believe in the ideas of sharing knowledge and of balancing the power dynamic
between us. My first go-to in my work has long been a quote from Karen Blixen:
