hope is that this will reinforce the sense of mattering to others, because it
reinforces the sense of mattering to oneself:
Dear Hanne,
Thank you for your two letters.
In your first letter, which you sent to me on August 20, you described
the incident from last year when you were at the Royal Arena with
your grandchild. You wrote that you had felt in danger and that the
incident had brought back memories of your first marriage, where
you were threatened with a hunting rifle. I wrote back to you briefly
via email, discussing, among other things, the importance of receiving
an appropriate social response and the concept of value
traumatization.
You wrote back that it had been quite helpful to get closer to that
feeling of worthlessness. You wrote:
