Do you feel that has happened to you in any way? Do you think your
thinking could be better if you didn9t have so many problems?
Dustin:
Yah.
Once again stated with an ample measure of uncertainty.
David:
You end up thinking about your problems a lot, but you don9t get a
school certificate for asthma & do you?
His parents are amused and try to muffle their laughter.
David:
Do you follow me, Dustin?
Dustin:
Yah.
David:
And what I noticed was that their thinking grew and sometimes their
parents were quite shocked by that. They seemed more intelligent.
Does that excite you in any way, Dustin?
Dustin:
Yah.
Once again, his reply is somewhat lukewarm.
David:
Is what we are talking about too much for you? Are you still keeping
up?
I check with him to see if he has wholeheartedly joined the conversation yet or if
he is just along for the ride.
Dustin:
Yep.
David:
OK. Do you want me to slow down or am I going right for you?
Dustin:
No, that's alright.
